It's Here!

Book Two in The Huntington Saga Series Novels~

Pirate Bride!

Miss Susannah Blakemore is kidnapped and sold into white slavery as payback to the Huntingtons. Will her pirate hero save her?

“The Huntingtons will pay. Oh, they will pay.” Plots and unholy alliances are put into action carrying out long-awaited retribution.

Only … one was not thought of. One was not even considered. How would anyone have guessed that a descendant of a pirate would take up his old family tradition in a mad quest to regain his bitterly lost love? The Marquess of Latham will not abide by this act of violence arranged for his precious love, but will surely save her -- will he not? And will he make her the next pirate bride?

Next? There must be a first to have a 'next'. But there was another ... centuries ago ... that still walks the halls of Stonecrest Castle.

New Fan Club page!

I received another great idea from a fan and wanted to share!

As mentioned above, she had a great idea that I decided to act upon. That is, I've created a Fan Club page on my website. Check it out here! Why not, right?

For those of you who are into helping a good cause, I think I have one you can truly feel good at being a part of. Authors aren't born every day, but more often than we may think. Becoming an author was never a dream I had, but I was forced into it by desperate circumstances. I'm glad I have ventured into the unknown, and I'm grateful for this opportunity to stretch and grow. It's been amazing! But I need some help. For those who have multiple talents and who are idea makers, I encourage you to be a part of this journey with me!

Thanks!

While you are waiting...

Just an update to let you all know that I'm still waiting for all the beta-readers to turn in their reviews. I can't publish until I know that I've fixed all the issues. For those of you who have already read the Pre-Launch Special, you're lucky because there have already been changes to the beginning five chapters, so you'll get to read both versions of the story. :)

I really needed to publish in June, but I'm not sure that it'll happen. That is the way of things sometimes. I'll still try for the Kindle version this month, but if not, Pirate Bride will be published just as soon as possible in all formats. I truly appreciate all my readers! And all my beta-readers have gone above and beyond! Thank you so very much!

I'm actually going to put out a large print version in a dust jacket form, but that'll come after all the rest. For now, I'm right there with you...waiting. I hate waiting... :D But the end result, I hope, will be worth it. Thanks for your patience!

And while you are all waiting, you might enjoy one of my favorite reads by Victoria Holt--The Captive. Here's the link!

Happy Reading!

Just sent off Pirate Bride to Beta-Readers!

It's officially sent! I just did it! Pirate Bride is now in the hands of beta-readers everywhere! I'm excited to see what they think of it and if it measures up.

Hopefully still, I can get this book published this month. That is the goal, but I've asked a lot of my readers, I know. So I'll give them the time they need.

Now...for the first chapter of Elspeth Was Her Name... It's being created as we speak. I will debut that novel at the end of Pirate Bride. :)

Happy Reading!

Editing...

Just made it through another edit last night! Woohoo! I'm nearly there! I can't believe how much work this can be. Writing Book Two has been very different than Book One. First of all, I was trying to be published traditionally, and so the time just started drawing out. But once I figured out that I was going to self-publish, I was pretty much finished with the manuscript. It only needed the fine tuning. That is why I was able to punch the volumes out one month right after the other.

But this has been different. I'm still creating. And creating is different than just editing. And the research involved can be very time consuming. And if its interesting, forget about getting it done fast! :) I just keep reading and learning and think, whoops! I gotta finish!

But I'm nearly there. I can feel it...kind of like breathing down the back of my neck. There's only certain times I like that...

Off I go! Trying to finish homeschooling for the day so I can have at it! Bring it on!

Another sick day...

I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired.

Had two procedures done last week. First, a CT Scan of the abdomen and pelvic regions to see if this growing lump in my tummy is a tumor...or not? It's not, thank heaven. But what is it then that I'm feeling? Don't yet know the answer to that question.

Second, had to have another endoscopy to remove the hundred-plus benign tumors that have accumulated in my stomach. Ugh. Isn't that lovely! Honestly, that night, I thought I was going to die, I was in so much pain. Next morning, the gal from the surgical center calls to ask how I'm doing... So I tell her I threw up once and that it was black blood, and that I'd had a rough time of it. All she said was, "I sure hope you get to feeling better. Bye!"

So I figured that I must be okay, right? But now, come to find out, they think I'm still bleeding internally, and yay for me...I get to go in today and do it all over again. Yippee! No food or drink til after my 4pm procedure. So its like fasting all day. Tough for a diabetic. Tough for anybody. But at least they'll be able to fix the problem in there, I do hope. Am I ever going to get this book done???

Like I said before, I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired. Someday soon, I hope I'll feel better.

At least spring/summer is here. That always makes me feel better. :)

Local Library 'Meet the Author' Day!

On Saturday, June 7th, our community had a special library day at our local community center. They had a book sale, sign-ups for the children's Summer Reading Program, treats, and a 'fishing pond', and then they welcomed two local authors to come sign their books: Joyce Lindstrom and little ole me! Thank you! It was a privilege and an honor.

It was fun to meet people from the community who were curious about me and who had read my book. And it was wonderful to meet another local author. We both had more than one thing in common, for she has also undergone treatments for cancer. Boy, did we have a lot to talk about between books and treatments. She is amazing!

Thanks for the opportunity Lewisville Library!

It's June!

I can't believe its already June! Holy Cow! Where has the time flown?

Kids are out of school, all except my homeschooler, which we are behind since Devin's heart attack, etc., etc. So, the both of us are still in school. Ugh. I feel his pain--deeply!

However, the good news is that there are only 18 more days until Pirate Bride is scheduled to be released. (Tentative release date is scheduled for June 20th!) Not sure if that will come true, for I'm still working on it and have yet to send it off to beta-readers and get their comments back. The cover is finished, but there are always formatting issues at the last minute. I'm getting pretty excited about showing it off. :D

So...here's to Summer 2014!

Enjoy!
